Using View in DealGround from the Chrome extension

How the extension recognises a property, which sites it works on, and why the button sometimes does not appear.

This article explains how View in DealGround works, where it appears, and what to do when it does not.

What it does

View in DealGround takes you from a property you are looking at on another site straight to that same property inside DealGround, with the full record — ownership, transaction history, tenants, and any brochures on file.

How it finds the property

The extension reads the property address from the page — from the listing details, the underlying page data, a Google Maps location, or the text of a PDF — and asks DealGround to match that address to a property in your account.

  • If there is a match, a new tab opens to that property in DealGround.

  • If there is no match, you will see a message saying the property is not in DealGround yet, or could not be matched from this page.

Which sites it works on

The extension works by reading the address on the page rather than by following site-specific rules, so it is not limited to a fixed list of sites. In practice that covers:

  • Listing portals such as Crexi

  • Brokerage and individual listing websites

  • Google Maps place pages

  • PDF flyers and offering memorandums opened in the browser

As long as a complete address is visible on the page, the button can appear.

Why the button is not showing

The button only appears when the extension can detect a complete street address. You will not see it when:

  • The page has no recognisable street address — a search results list, a map overview with no property selected, or a page showing only a property name or photo.

  • The address is incomplete, or formatted in a way the extension cannot read.

  • You are not signed in to the extension.

If you are on a specific property page and still do not see it, scroll to where the full address is displayed, or refresh the page. The extension reads the page as it loads.

Saving a PDF from the page

When the extension detects a PDF, it offers to save it to DealGround directly. The document is processed the same way as a manual upload and stays private to your team. If this is not working, check that Allow access to file URLs is enabled in the extension's settings.
