By the end of this article you'll know where to report an issue, what to include, what happens after you send it, and what happens to your credit when owner info turns out to be incorrect.
Report it from the property
If you spot a data issue on a specific property, such as an incorrect owner, contact, property detail, sale, or tenant, report it from the property itself. The report carries the exact record with it, so it goes straight to the right place.
Open the property.
Click the flag icon at the top of the property panel (Report an issue). On smaller screens, it's in the ⋮ (More actions) menu.
Choose a topic:
Owner Information: an incorrect owner, a phone number or email that's incorrect or out of date, or a contact who isn't the owner
Property Data: an incorrect property type, size, tenant, price, or other detail
Historical Data: sales, loans, or other history that's incorrect or missing
General: anything else
Describe the issue and click Submit issue.
Report anything else
For issues that aren't about a single property, such as the map, an upload, or something not working, go to Settings and click Report an issue at the bottom of the left-hand menu. The topics there are Data Accuracy, Issue with Map, Uploading Brochure, and General.
You can also email [email protected]. Email works best when you want to attach something. For a failed upload, attach the file. For search results that don't look right, include the filters you used and what you expected.
What makes a report useful
Say what's incorrect and, if you know it, what's correct. "The contact listed is the owner's attorney, not the owner" is more useful than "incorrect owner."
Say how you know, for example from a deed, a phone call, or the county website.
Send one issue per report, so each one can be fixed and closed on its own.
What happens next
Your report goes to the DealGround team with the record attached, and we look into it.
When owner info is incorrect, our research team re-checks it. If we find the right owner, we update the property for your whole team. If we can't confirm a better answer, the owner info you already have stays on the property.
How long it takes: it depends on the issue, so we don't promise a fixed time.
What happens to your credit
Corrections are free. If we fix the owner on a property your team has already paid for, you aren't charged again.
Lookups with no phone number or email aren't charged in the first place. See Getting owner info for a whole list.
The original credit isn't refunded automatically. If you think you were charged for a result that was incorrect, say so in your report or email [email protected], and we'll review it.
Common cases
Incorrect property type or subtype. Types come from public records, and their quality varies from county to county. Report it with the correct type.
Missing tenant or lease data. First check whether it's blurred rather than missing: deeper property data is hidden on free accounts. If you're subscribed and it really is missing, report it.
Search results that don't match your filters. Several filter behaviors are deliberate but surprising, so check Searching for properties: filters explained first. If it still doesn't look right, report it from Settings or email us your filters and what you expected.
An upload that failed. Start with Troubleshooting failed uploads. If that doesn't solve it, email us the file.
Feature and coverage requests
For missing asset types, thin coverage in a market, or filters you wish existed, email [email protected]. We track every request, and they shape what we build.
